We are thrilled to introduce a new 8-week Devotional Series here on Deliberate Women. As women who strive to live a life of faith in God with purpose and diligence, we also desire to be intentional with sharing Christ with others.
Do you ever wonder things like, "What's my purpose? Why am I here?" or "What does God want me to do? How can I serve?" Figuring out our place in this world can be difficult. Added to the difficulty is when we look sideways at one another, comparing what she does with what we do, instead of looking up to discover what it is that God is calling us to do. Each of us is created with unique talents and characteristics. We were lovingly knit together in our mother's womb by God the Father (Psalm 139:13). Each of us is commissioned to love the Lord with everything in us (Luke 10:27) and to share Christ with others (Mark 16:15): We are called to Know Him and to Make Him Known. But sometimes that charge can leave us feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to proceed. Our Devotional addresses eight women of the Bible and eight current-day women who took what they had and offered it to God for His glory. As a result, God took their willingness and their faithfulness and multiplied it as only He can. The women we'll feature didn't set out to be women of renown or great in their own eyes. In fact, some of them were considered outcasts or forgotten. All of them however, have received the blessings of being willing and obedient when they chose to HEAR the Lord and step out in faith. "I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands." Psalm 119:60
Join us on this eight week journey. Meet these women and perhaps see them in a way you never have before. Look for bits of yourself in these women. See how it only takes willingness and obedience to be used mightily by the Lord.
We will be featuring two women a week; a woman from the Bible each Tuesday and a current-day example each Thursday. We are so excited begin this series! Won't you join us? Subscribe below! ![]() Happy Labor Day! We hope that you are having a relaxing day with your loved ones. We have been very busy working on something that is knocking our socks off. Deliberate Women began in 2012 when the Lord called me (Mandy) to be more obedient and bold in living out my everyday life for Christ. I reached out to several women to share this calling with them and I had a few respond saying that they too would like to be a part of this new group of women living out their life of faith in God with purpose and diligence. We launched the blog Deliberate Women on December 28, 2012. We committed to sharing our everyday struggles and triumphs in Christ through blogging. Our team consisted of myself (Mandy), Ginny, Lindsey, Alayna, and Annice. Month after month, we obediently shared what God placed on our hearts. Over the next 2 1/2 years, as our purpose became more evident and our focus narrowed, we experienced some growing pains. Alayna and Annice moved on to pursue other things (and are missed, but we are so excited to see the amazing ways the Lord is using them) and new faces joined our team: Mia, Melissa, Toi, Alison, Bethany, and Vickibeth. As we settled in to figure out what this online ministry was all about, I felt God reveal something very cool and very amazing to me. What He revealed was both a concept and a purpose for our mission and also a new name that we will be known by going forward. This concept has shaken me to the core as God has not only laid the details of what it means on my heart, but He is also walking me through the actuality of living it out. He is so good in that He allows us the privilege of experiencing the very things He wants us to share with others and the ways in which He calls us to minister to others. He is a good and faithful God who never leaves us, but walks alongside us every step of the way, refining us, molding us, and preparing us for His work. While our name may change, the underlying values that shaped DW will not. We are and will remain women living out faith in God with purpose and diligence, but we will be doing so more purposefully. We will continue to share our lives with all of you through the blog, which allows you to get to know us better. We will also be implementing new avenues by which we plan to come alongside you and Encourage, Educate, and Equip you to also be women living out faith in God with purpose and diligence. In this new season of ministry, we will be creating and providing for you support, tools, and resources to be women who know the Lord and who take the love of Christ to others. Are you looking to create a vibrant, Christ-centered women's ministry in your church? Are you looking to revive and re-energize your existing women's ministry? Are you a woman who wants to grow her relationship with Christ and also be equipped to take Jesus to a world that is starving for Him? Are you searching for a way to be used by God right where you are? This is what we feel called to do. We are excited and overjoyed to take on this new direction. Can we ask for your prayers? We are confident that the Lord will be in control of every aspect from start to finish. We are very much looking forward to rolling this out for you in the coming weeks, but for now, we are buttoning-up certain things and making sure we're completely ready before we officially launch. Here's to new beginnings! Here's to serving the Lord with everything in us! Here's to being women who unabashedly chase after Jesus! We look forward to going on this journey with you! xoxo. Mandy |
