Vickibeth is married to Tim, a current seminary student pursuing full-time ministry, and they reside in a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. Vickibeth and Tim have been married for two years and are loving the adventure of marriage! Vickibeth is a Document Control Manager and Office Manager for a start-up medical device company that specializes in women’s health. She enjoys event planning, crafting, playing the piano, and spending time with their family, friends, and yorkiepoo, Buddy. Life is busy as they both work full-time, are involved in their church and ministry, and Tim is in seminary. Tim’s schooling allows Vickibeth a lot of free time in the evenings to read, blog at O My Soul, and take care of their home (and watch HGTV). |
Vickibeth grew up in a Christian home, attended Christian school and college, taught Sunday School and was involved in many ministries her entire life, and she prided herself on being “the good girl,” the one everyone told their young daughters to “look up to,” yet this constant pursuit of perfection left her frustrated and feeling like a constant failure behind closed doors. She struggled to comprehend how everyone else could appear so fulfilled with Jesus and have no inner struggles. She loved Jesus and she so badly desired for Him to “be pleased with her.” Following college, in 2010, she moved to Michigan for a year to study at a Bible institute where she was first truly introduced to the concept of grace.
In 2012, she met Tim, a “bad boy” who had been radically changed by Jesus in his mid-twenties. His fresh, contagious love for God and desire for His approval, not everyone else’s, has been a refreshing fountain for her thirsty soul that for years was been stuck in “just follow the rules, then God, and everyone else, will be pleased with you.” Learning to live in grace instead of pursuing legalistic perfection has been a challenging and continuous journey, but one that she wouldn’t trade for the world! Vickibeth desires to be real and open up her heart to show women that they are not alone in their daily struggles. This realization can be liberating and life-changing! No one has it “all” together; we are all imperfect sinners struggling to stay focused on a Heavenly Father who loves us more than we can comprehend. She believes that the more honest we are with other women, the less guilt and self-condemnation we will all face, the more grace we will extend to ourselves and others, and the more we will accomplish together for the cause of Christ.
