Here it is...your chance to do what you have always been meant to do...share Jesus with the world. Don't stop reading yet! I'm not going to suggest that you step up onto a soap box with a bullhorn on your nearest corner. Goodness, no. What if I told you that I have a couple of non-threatening, non-confrontational methods that you can use to tell others about God? Would you be interested in stepping out just a bit? In conjunction with the new workbook release, I'd like to roll out some new things from She Heard. We're celebrating the release of GO! Continuing the Journey You Began in Christ. Along the lines of our other devotional workbooks, GO! is a bite-sized 8.5 x 11" workbook that delves into Scripture. In GO! I aim to help you discern what your calling is and how to practically go about fulfilling it. {We're also offering a FREE PDF download!} GO! has five chapters addressing the following:
Many times we feel convicted to share Jesus but we don't know where to begin. What we see others doing may feel forced or uncomfortable for us, so we shut down. The idea of starting a conversation with a complete stranger gives us sweaty palms. Thinking about telling a loved one about Jesus makes us freeze. So how do we answer the Great Commission that Jesus left for us to tell the world about the Good News when we have no idea what the first step looks like? Read GO! and learn about why we struggle with finding our "mystical calling" and how we determine our part in fulfilling the commission to tell the whole world about Jesus. Once you've finished the study, we're hoping you're raring to go to spread Jesus to a lost and hurting world--starting with your family and moving on to your neighbor--and beyond! In an effort to make sharing Jesus less itimidating, we've created some non-intrusive methods here at She Heard... 1. "Hello. I prayed For You" Card: Pray... for the person in line behind you at the coffee shop as you pay for their coffee, when you tip your server, as you tuck away a card in a library book before returning it, when you encounter a frustrated mom at the grocery store, etc. Pray and then hand it to them and walk away or leave it anonymously. This is an easy way to lift up that person before the Lord and let the person know you've done so. I did this at a local coffee shop along with a gift card for a free coffee. I had the shop owner give it to the person they felt called to give it to. What a great way to pray for someone AND share the mission behind this method of ministry with the shop owner! 2. "Your Home Was Prayed For" Card: Walk around your neighborhood/apartment complex/dorm and pray for your neighbors. Pray the Lord's blessing over the home and pray for all who live inside. Pray that God would touch their lives and make Himself known to them. Pray for opportunities to be a light for the Lord to these people, etc. The sky's the limit as far as what you pray! Then, leave the card on the door handle and be on your way! My daughters (9 & 6) and I walked around our neighborhood praying over houses on our street and leaving these cards. We started with five homes. We prayed for whatever we felt led to pray for each home. It was amazing to hear what my daughters felt compelled to pray for our neighbors and I loved showing them this way to be missionaries right in our own neighborhood. This next idea for outreach is a little bolder... Before you get frantic and start rattling off all the reasons why you can't host a Bible study, let me tell you this: You don't have to know everything there is to know about God and Jesus and the Bible to host a study. Honestly. You don't even have to know MOST of it. You just have to love Jesus, and make yourself available to being used by Him. That's it! We'd LOVE to encourage you to open your home, your work breakroom, or even the local park for gathering with some women and being in the Word together. All you need to do is decide which book of the Bible you'd like to study, set a length of time (i.e. 4 weeks, 6 weeks, etc), a time and location and invite some people to join you! That's it! And truly, you'll only need a Bible. If you don't have a Bible, many half-price book stores or thrift stores have them or you can download a free Bible app on your smartphone or device. {YouVersion and Blue Letter Bible are our faves.} The apps offer MANY versions of the Bible, so you can choose which version you prefer or use more than one version at a time (which I like to do). Use commentaries (also free on these apps) to read further into the culture, original text meaning, and context of the books of the Bible. If you'd like to use a formal study, that's a great option, of course. There are a number of good ones available. And of course, we'd LOVE it if you chose to use ours! GO! Continuing the journey you began in Christ is our first choice, naturally! Work through the pages on your own or invite others to join you and make it a small group. Grow closer to the Lord as you also grow closer to one another. There is NOTHING like the beauty of growing closer to God in community with others who are doing the same. Our next choice? Our SHE HEARD study is a 9-week study that features 8 women of the Bible and how each one stepped out boldly to be obedient to what God called her to. REVEALED features seven women from the Bible to whom Jesus revealed His different character qualities. SELAH: On Your Road to Damascus is a 6-week study that features Saul (later called Paul) as he traveled to Damascus to arrest Christians. His meeting with Jesus on that dusty road thousands of years ago changed him forever. Responsible for writing the bulk of the New Testament, Paul is a giant in the faith whose epistles are still teaching us today. If you choose any of our workbooks for your study, not only will you receive a discount on a bulk order,* but we'll also include the templates for posters, sign-up sheets, and cards for you to print and use to advertise and promote your study-for no additional charge! Whatever you do, we encourage you to pray and ask God to give you a heart for service. Be available to Him for His purposes and watch as He knocks your socks off! We are all commissioned to GO! and tell the world about Jesus. Let's start with the people right next to us! Let's do this! we'd love to hear from all of you who take on this challenge! feel free to share in the comments what you'd like to do in 2018 to step outside of your comfort zone and allow the lord to work through you! |
This space is reserved for Founder Mandy's perspectives and viewpoints of Scripture. Man is fallible, but God is not. It's strongly encouraged that you study the Scripture for yourself and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in your understanding.
