WHEN GOD SEEMS FAR AWAYI {Mandy} have been going through one of those times in your spiritual life that you hear about and hope never happens to you. I am having a "quiet" time as far as hearing God or "feeling" Him. I was riding high for a while, feeling fantastic and then....nothing. I call it being in a funk. Things got quiet and the flames of my heart died down a little. I no longer raced to grab my Bible and Beth Moore study in the morning. I was inundated with critical thoughts about myself and others. I was finding more faults with others than I was extending grace and offering love. And I was totally dumb founded. Why? Why would this be happening when I was JUST at the top of the mountain? I wish I could offer you an explanation or give you a 10 step how-to on how to recover from a quiet time like this. All I have is this: Continue praying. Continue asking God to speak to you and to reveal to you whatever it is that may be building a wall between the two of you. Remain firm in your belief that God has not moved away from you. It may feel that way, but we cannot rely on feelings and emotions, but on God's Word. Reach out to friends for support. Ask for prayers. Don't be embarrassed to admit that you are in a drought. And know that He is always there for you, even if you don't "feel" it. |
This space is reserved for Founder Mandy's perspectives and viewpoints of Scripture. Man is fallible, but God is not. It's strongly encouraged that you study the Scripture for yourself and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in your understanding.
