All these Christmas song lyrics have a greater meaning to me (Annice) now then they did when I was growing up. I used to sing them because I heard them on the radio or in church. I never fully grasped their meanings until after I accepted Christ into my life as my personal Savior.

John 1: 1-4,14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
HE was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made;
without Him nothing was made that was made.
In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.
We have see His glory, the glory of the one and only Son,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus was there in the very beginning and without HIM nothing was made that was made. That totally blows my mind. God's plan started on the first day of creation! That story of Adam and Eve wasn't just about them. Jesus was there because through HIM all things were made.

Then, the Word (Jesus), became flesh and He made His dwelling among us. Wow! God didn't have to do that, but that was His plan all along. To send His Son to us, have Him live like us and then sacrifice Him for us...all to save us from our sins.

"Be near me Lord Jesus, I ask thee to stay. Close by me forever, and love me, I pray"

Heavenly Father,
I pray that Your presence is the only present we need in this coming year. Fill our hearts with your Spirit and cause us to shine bright for you. This world and society that we live in are so dark and needs Your truth and light.
